30 Odd Answers

It’s been over a month, I’ve written anything on my blog and what better way could it be for breaking the writer’s block by taking up this fun exercise. I found this on Parul’s blog and immediately decided to take it up.

Also, what better way could it be to become all chatty and post it here on the blog ;) :P

1.  What did you want to be when you were a kid? A software engineer, though I had no idea what it was. I just liked the word. I also wanted to be a teacher I guess.
2. Which “Friends” character do you relate to the most? Why? None but if we talk about couples, I can relate a bit with Monica and Chandler.
3. Do you like your name? Why? Yes. I love my name. There is a sort of connection I build with people I meet and I guess that’s because of my name.
4. Are you messy or neat? Both. I am really neat at times and beyond messy other times! :P
5. How tall are you? Tall enough to get down those containers or stuff placed at heightened corners of the house.
6. How tall were you when you were 10? I’m not sure I remember that!
7. What is your guilty pleasure? Café Latte with a Chocolate brownie.
8. What are you saving money for right now? I’m saving so that I can give my dream gifts to people I love the most! And on travel as well!
9. How many Pringles can you eat at once? None. I’m not a Pringles fan but I do love Lays (the Blue one), I can have two packets if I’m starving.
10.  Tea or coffee? Without a doubt, Coffee it is!
11. Are you an introvert or an extrovert? I am an extrovert as a person but when it comes to social media and virtual world, I am a big-time introvert!
12. What will be your Halloween costume this year? Never really gave it a thought. I haven’t celebrated it ever but would love to try some scary things sometime.
13. Sweet or salty? Sweet! Always.
14. Favorite social media? Twitter. Actually, I’m not too much fond of any social media. I keep unplugging from time to time.
15. Who is the last person you kissed? If dreams count, it’s Chandler Bing (about last night and it still feels fresh ;))
16. What is your favorite breakfast? A bowl of sprouts, a glass of milk and two bread toast with butter.
17. When is your birthday? October 18
18. When did you start your blog? Back in 2011 but it became an active one in 2015.
19. What is your opinion on the Kardashians? None. It’s indifferent to me.
20. How would you describe your style? Elegant and Classy
21. What color is your hair? Black. With a lot of white strands now (*rolling eyes*)
22. What color socks are you wearing? None. It’s pretty hot here in Agra.
23. What is your dream job? A job that pays me to explore places and do adventures and travel the world.
24. Dogs or cats? Anytime, Dogs!
25. What makes you weird? This eccentric need to do almost everything in life and travel without putting a stop.
26. Celebrity crush? Nikolaj Coster- Waldau a.k.a Jamie Lannister (Game of Thrones)
27. Opinion on cigarettes? They’re bad and I hate them.
28. Do you want/have children? How many? Yes, I want to have them some day.
29. Three favorite boy names? Daanish, Nirvaan, Aadvik
30. Three favorite girl names? Kaira… umm.. not able to think any!

C- Candy Crush

How many of you were addicted to it or still are and have killed your precious hours on this revolutionary game? I, for one, haven’t wasted a single second on it.

Yes... we do exist!

The way Facebook has been accepted worldwide, Candy Crush Saga has been equally sensational. So much so that I thought of it being declared as the National Game of the country! :P

And the instances of people being glued to their phones are hilarious.

So a friend of mine was sharing the Candy Crush story of his mom. When his mom learned to play that game, she was so lost in her phone that she ignored every damn thing in her life! Office work, daily chores, social gatherings, everything!

Once my friend was awake until late night and came out of his room around 3 in the morning. He saw a flicker of light coming from his parents’ room and wondered if everything was okay. When he opened the door, it was mostly dark. His father was having a sound sleep, while his mom was missing. This worried him a bit. He started calling out her without letting his father get disturbed. 

And as he approached towards the light (which was coming from the bathroom), he was left aghast! His mom was sitting on the floor with the lights on, playing Candy Crush!!

‘What is wrong with you, mom!? It’s 3 in the morning!!’

Well... Things people do to play Candy Crush, I tell you!

But that’s not why I chose to write on this topic. There is more to it.

I know a lady... or let’s just say lots of ladies, whose bodies are exhausted after finishing the household work, that all they feel is lie on the bed and have some rest. While doing so, they don’t sleep immediately, though. They have this urge to talk, to share things, to let someone know how exhausting their day was, how nasty the kids got in the evening and the likes.

And in the plethora of these thoughts, she sees her phone! Tempting, eh? Of course, (most) husbands don’t talk much to their wives. And the irony is there are hundreds of contacts in the phone, and yet not a single person whom they can call at an odd hour! Well, that’s the beauty of getting involved in your house altogether! Pun intended!

And the only rescue to free your mind, to get over with the chain of thoughts, to have that ‘me’ time, to put your mind apart from breakfast, lunch or dinner, to feel refreshed again is none other our very favourite... Candy Crush Saga!

And then they get judged for it too! Kids make fun of their moms, saying they’re glued on their phones all the time and don’t look after them, husbands start getting pestered because for once, wife is giving more importance to something else than them, the house management too gets suffered sometimes, but then if those few minutes turned into hours (:P), give them so much peace then so be it! There’s no harm in that.

One shouldn’t be judged for playing Candy Crush, what say you CC lovers?

Caught Red Handed

‘Not another bite dear. It’s not good for your health’

‘Last bite, promise’

That’s how my mom and dad argued over sweets. Dad has a sweet tooth and he doesn’t realize when he has to stop and that is where mother comes in the picture.

For the last few days, mother has been wary of something. When I ask her the reason, she tells me about dad’s indifferent reaction towards the sweets. 

But that is a good sign, I wonder. And that is what she’s always wanted!

‘Mom, good he’s conscious of his health’

‘You know nothing. Something is going on’

‘But he never eats outside. Even if he will, he’ll first tell you’

Days passed and her suspicion faded away.

Until one day when mother, she decided to organize dad’s wardrobe and discovered chunks of Sohan Halwa, hidden in the recluse corner!

Ten to One: Know me More

Okay, so yesterday I was going through Roshan’s post and obviously, it interested me. I mean I was more interested in knowing more about him but as I scrolled down towards the end, I realized I wanted to do it too. And these tags are always fun to play right? So here I am ready to load you with more information about myself!

Ten Hows!

1.      How did you get one of your scars? I have one above my forehead, smothered with my not-so-thick-hair. I was a child and was tempted to watch the television but the switch of the TV was a bit high. I took a stool and like a brave heart stumbled upon it only to fall on the stairs and hurt myself! Looks like I shouldn’t have acted brave then!

2.      How did you celebrate your last birthday? It was a small affair between me and my close friends. They brought me a couple of things but a personalized card from them made my day :), followed by a surprise by my husband. Isn’t he thoughtful sometimes? I’m happy he is :)

3.      How are you feeling at this moment? Hot and annoyed! Something happened and I am still not over it yet!

4.      How did your night go last? Good. Had a sound sleep.

5.      How did you do in high school? Not so well. Grades were okay but that wasn’t the only thing. My group got split. I parted ways with the one who used to be my best friend. All the girls used to talk behind my back, they used to bully me as well, and I used to sit in the corner and cry. Alone. I had an extremely low self-esteem. I never want my high school back. Ever

6.      How did you get the shirt you are wearing? Bought it last year. It says, ‘Shopping is my cardio’ and hell yeah, it sure is!

7.      How often do you see your best friends? Once in 6 months or once in a year, I guess.

8.      How much money did you spend last month? Haven’t calculated but I did spend a fortune! I was travelling... I had to shop! Don’t give me those looks!

9.      How old do you want to be when you get married? I turned 24 and just after three days I got married!

10.  How old will you be on your next birthday? 28

2.      What did you do last weekend? Outing, eating junk, chilling out, relaxing, watching TV... what else do you want to know? ;)

3.      What is the most important part of your life? Relationships!

5.      What did you last cry over? Don’t remember. Been a while I’ve shed a tear.

6.      What always makes you feel better when you’re upset? Writing. Sometimes talking to people who're close to me. And sometimes stay mum. The whole day! I know that's quite unlike me, but that is how it is!

7.      What’s the most important thing you look for in a significant other? Understanding  and sense of humour

5.      Who did you last hug? One of my distant grandmother and she is really a sweetheart.

1.      Where do your best friends live? All over the country. Some in Delhi, some in Bombay, some in Bangalore, some here in Kanpur.

3.      Where did you last hung out? Lakme Salon with my friend if that counts :P

4.      Where do you go to school? St. Anthony’s Junior College, Agra. Best school!

5.      Where is your favorite place to be? Not yet found.

6.      Where did you sleep last night? At my home.

1.      Why are you best friends with your best friend? We share a lot. In fact, everything when we meet. Without any judgement, we pour our hearts. And we have seen a lot of high’s and low’s together!

2.      Why did you get into blogging? The idea of having a blog always fascinated me.

3.      Why did your parents give you the name you have? ‘cos  they liked it and it wasn’t that common when they kept it, I guess.

4.      Why are you doing this survey? For fun obviously!!

1.      If you could have one super power what could it be? Umm... probably erase the sufferings of my near and dear ones. Also, I secretly want to hear what people talk behind one’s back :P

2.      If you could go back in one time and change one thing, would you? Yes, I will.

3.      If you were stranded on a deserted island and could bring one thing, what would you bring? Water. A book, and something to fill my belly.
