O no! Strictly no ritual. It’s simply random. When there is
a writing challenge, then my writing juices flow, and get a kickstart.. Or
whenever any incident has triggered me a lot and left an effect deep down,
writing is the only escape I have to keep my sanity alive. Sometimes, there are
people who really annoy us in ways we never imagine, writing a blogpost or
probably an article does wonders (I know I’m sliding towards the demons side
now :P). The routine itself isn’t fixed, then how can writing be?
That's what I do! |
You tell me, do you have a fixed routine? If yes, then how
are you able to maintain consistency with it?
P.S- I’m really running out of time, hence such a short
write up.. I know, I know, you’re glad.. but not more than me :P ;)

I am pretty random with my writing, too. I don't have much in the way of rituals other than sitting down at the keyboard and writing a bunch of crap before something good comes out. That's about it. I get inspired by events in life or other bloggers. Some days I have nothing, others I'm overflowing. I'm used to it.
ReplyDeleteThat's how it works Cathy..
DeleteThanks :)

The only ritual I have tried to maintain is writing my morning pages. I struggle with the rest, but admire people who do have one.
ReplyDeleteThat is still good Corinne.. I hope I too stick with one!
DeleteThanks for dropping by :)

I got no routine. Somedays I publish three posts in a day ... sometimes a week goes by without any update. Although I wish I had routine.
ReplyDeleteYeah.. sounds like me Raj.. sometimes too much writing and sometimes struggling to write a para..

Ritual and structure is anathema for me! I much prefer to "go with the flow", whenever the muse strike. That said, I do sometimes participate in time specific link-ups, etc., but only those ones that interest me.
ReplyDeleteI too go with the flow mostly.. and that is how it works with me..
DeleteThanks Debbie :)

Routine, what is that? Not my cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteHi-fi Ajay!

Routines normally work for me for most things. But for writing, I need silence too, which is difficult to get with my toddler around. So while I have a plan, I find it difficult to stick with it. :)
ReplyDeleteYes.. Silence is one prerequisite for writing.. yeah, that must get too handy.. but whatever you write, it comes out great Shantala :)

I'm not sure how I feel about routines. For writing, that is. On paper, they sound lovely and even productive. But with a three year old running amok, sometimes, (actually most days!) it goes for a toss. But if I had to, I'd write at night. After everyone's gone to bed :)
ReplyDeleteI remember my school days.. when I used to wait for everybody to go to bed and then I could study in silence.. that is the best time to work..
DeleteGlad to hear from you Sid :)

I also write when inspiration strikes, thus my blogging is pretty random and not so regular as I would have liked it to be! ;)
ReplyDeleteBut as long as the randomness works wonders, it's totally works.. what say Aditi ?
