H-Hope

Print
She always noted the scar on her face, the extra upperlip, the pimple that left the mark. She wasn’t wrong. Mirrors don’t lie. Do they?

Make-up, her only friend. It never let her down and consoled the broken soul. It helped her hide the scars.

But what about the invisible scars? Is there a mirror for that too?

‘Honey, let’s go. And why is your face all white? Why go overboard if you barely know anything about make-up?’

A tear escaped from her lone eyes, yet again.

May be one day he'll love her scarred soul rather than the painted face.

  1. Ohh, so sad. But doesn't he know about her scars? Hope is a powerful emotion. One that keeps you moving ahead!

  8. Usually the scars on the surface are where we manage to hide from the scars underneath. His observance feeds her fears. Very sad, but well written!

Happy A to Z ing! Yay, the weekend's here! :)

  9. Why does she feel the need to hide her scars from him? I hope she finds the courage to show him all her scars. Excellent flash, but sorrowful.

    1. Yes, even that makes sense. What is the point of hiding scars, at least not from him?!
      Thanks a lot :)

    1. Thanks Vishal. We barely notice them. Specially of the ones whom we don't know!

  12. Really thought provoking. I can't decide if the man is an ass hole and she needs to ditch him, or if he genuinely prefers her without make-up because he loves the real her and her self esteem is too low to see that

  13. That was painful.
It's a pain to be in a relationship where superficiality takes precedence over love.
But with hope in your heart, life moves on.
Interesting take on 'H' Geetika :)
