Gratitude Post January

Finally, making time for this wonderful activity I have been longing to write. Thank you Vidya, for coming with such a marvelous initiative. This post is dedicated to you.

January was a month full of crazy work hours. Writing took a backseat. But there were quite a few things that caught my attention, things I am grateful for and writing a post like this is always a gratifying experience. Reflecting on things that help you keep grounded, is something I look forward to.
The month went by in haste and now it has come to an end. Saying time flies is merely a cliché that we hear, read, and talk with every single person. But the good part is, time has been good to all of us, that’s the reason why don’t realize when it flew away. Isn’t it?

I wanted to have my own custom domain name and I wanted this to happen in December itself. But as they say, everything happens for a reason. And this new year, in this first month, I now have my own custom domain name. The feeling is bliss. I cannot thank Sid enough for helping me out at every step.

Having a wonderful family and a husband that lets you be is a rare thing to see. I am so grateful to have A in my life. With him, even the biggest of worries seem so little, because he is the one who keeps his cool intact and that helps me maintain my cool.

The anthology that has my poems and story will be out next month. Pre-orders for the same have started on Amazon. You too can order a copy of yours and I’m sure, it will be an intriguing read for you. It’s available at 10% discount right now, with free COD. Once the book is out in the market, it will be chargeable. That’s a tremendous start to New Year, don’t you think?

Results were out this month of my students who gave the exams in December. 4 of them bagged AIR ranks (16, 20, 24, 25)! All of them my students. The feeling is simply inexplicable. It was a combined effort of all the teachers who worked equally hard and students of course, without whose dedication it would never have been possible. But hey, the bigger part is, maximum students got highest marks in my subjects! Yes! I know, that’s kind of big! When I learned this, I was dancing with joy. I now realize how exhilarating teachers and parents feel when they see their children do well. At the end of the day, all the efforts and pains seem worthy.

My dog. He seems to be more attached with me. He always wants to play. The moment he see me coming near him, he starts wagging his tail and brings his ball, asking me play with him. There is so much of innocence in those tiny eyes.

Due to crazy work hours, I could barely give time to my family. My niece and nephew didn’t like it, but understood my situation as well. Kids.. they teach you to find happiness in the smallest of things. They learned how to play Uno, and every single night before going to bed, they wanted me to accompany them. It was fun. And I too was glad, for spending time with them.
There are countless things that we overlook every day and that is where Vidya Sury comes in. She binds us together. Making an effort to initiate this activity is the best thing to do in the beginning of a New Year.

I am pleased to be a part of Gratitude Circle workshop and look forward for the coming ones.

Come on! Let's Go!

“Let’s go upstairs, sister”

“But why? Isn’t it fun, right here? Aren’t you enjoying with me?”

“O, I am enjoying! Of course! But look above.. it looks thrilling! It always is! I want to go up, really up in life too! It seems to store so much of excitement. Climbing up the stairs, falling down from them and then climbing them again! Touching the sky, going to the place where no one has ever been. So much we can learn together, if only you say a yes!”

“Okay! Looks like you’re in no mood to change your mind! Come ‘on!”

O Morning! Why you come?

Everyone kept a safe distance from the flames
For nobody wanted to play such dangerous games!
Games, interesting they sound, huh?
Whiles away the time and make the moment fun.
Fun, that you and I were having last night
Doing naughty little things, turning them into sweet fights.

First time it was when we moved out together
Exploring the places, oblivious to the risk rather!
Hanging out, dining in, riding on the streets
What a wonderful time it was, when we moved into the sheets!

Scared and nervous, I felt then
You held my waist and brought me close instead
It was a dark dingy place with people groping me
Just one stern look and they were ready to be on their knees.

Excitement was running in the blood,
Thrill could be felt in the nerves
Our hearts were pounding hard,
Exploring the magic that was about to get starred!

I don’t know when, I don’t know how,
I melted into your arms, and felt just wow
Right in the middle of the night
I found you cuddling me just right!
That moment and that night
I never wanted it to see the day’s light
But the sun’s rays were all ready
Showering their love, waking us up already!
Just right then, you held me tight
Holding me from back, with all your might
The warmth of your hug, and the husky hard breath
How will I ever return, this eternal debt?

O morning, why you come?
You ended it all, once which was so much fun
I hate you for this, I hate you for coming
Because of you, we now have to part our ways!

Unraveling the Night

That strange stormy night,
All set to make me fright
Eyes all on me
Exasperating and terrifying,
Bringing me on my knee!
But I chose to run,
Run away from all of you
To a place where I could be free from all the woes
Place full of freedom
Place without anyone dumb
Place where I can succumb on happiness
Place where it will let me be
Place where I could just breathe
Place where I could make a choice
Dreams taking dimensions, ready to flee!

I wish you could come along,
I don’t mind even if you don’t
It is always better to have you by my side
Nevertheless, it’s a lonely world, and I should learn to confide!

You know I always loved wearing skirts
But you never let me don one
They’ll stare, and it won’t look nice
You should know it all, now don’t spoil all the fun!

I just want to run, run and run so far
Oblivious to its ways and nescient to its scars
So what it will hurt,
So what if it makes me fall
It will only teach me something
And make an undaunted soul.

O this night,
This scary, scary night
I dare you come again
And I will welcome you with all the might!

Resolutions laid ahead!

2016 started with a bang with an amazing weather in the hills of Northern India. The soft, mild sunny weather in the afternoon and the chilly winds in the evening, with a bunch of completely insane species on planet was a perfect fusion to kick start this new year! Food, drinks, music, friends, road trip, photos, party.. what else could one ask for?

With such a staggering start of the year, I am all energised and set to lay my plans ahead for the year. Yes, I wish to write the chapter on my own for the year and make it worth reading for the coming years. Last year gave me a lot, and I intend to scout even more from this year. As I’ve heard, human wants are insatiable, true as they say!

So, what I really plan to do this year? Let’s find out:

Read at least 25 books this year. And I know it’s not going to be easy, but as they say, try, try till you succeed. Reading sure is the appetite for good writing and that is one thing I want to be healthy at..!! I sometimes, really have to make an effort to pick up a book and start reading it.

Writing-

Writing something every single day. Yes, that’s challenging, but then what’s life without challenges! I want to take my writing ahead professionally. Looking forward to try my hands on fiction and a few series.

Wellness-

Very important. I have been dillydallying it from I don’t even remember when. Time to stop it all and finally exercise! It does help you maintain your cool. A positive mind and a healthy body is the perfect way to move towards your goals. Don’t you think?

Emotional Well being-

Yes. I am emotional person. I think almost everything like a zillion times in my head and take it to my heart easily. Time to get rid of it. I am working on this, but nothing happens overnight, eh? It makes suffer so much, without me realizing how agitated I often get! A little more patience and hope for a better future and I am really to shine all bright!

Resolutions really work for me and this year too I plan to make them happen.
That pretty much sums up my list. Have you made yours? Don’t you want to share? I’d love to read.

Wish you all a very Happy New Year :)

Cheers
